What is involved in recoding a 2009 Borrego ECU

     I have a 1009 Borrego in the shop that i have diagnosed to need a new ECU. I have a MaxiDAS DS808. It shows a menu that says it can write the VIN. 
    Can I recode a use ECU with this tool?
    What is involved.
